love

Love is in your laughter
Love is in the oxygen you breath
Love is on your lips

Let me laugh
Let me gasp
Let me taste your love

Make you laugh
Give you life
Kiss you soft and sweet

Play and dance
Sing and shout
Kissing all night long

Playful
Kind
& sweet I bite

little sorrys

No longer a door away

we have our little worries

about the other day

we say our little sorries

it only shows we care

& we will be there

for the bigger worrys

and the bigger sorrys

Midnight

Midnight can be
my golden hour.
It is late
But mind must write.
Pour, leek, radiate.
No guilt
or worry.
There’s a quiet
lorries whisper
motorbikes blare
but nothing to do
but sleep

or write.

a muddle is my mind

a muddle is my mind
filthy water to the brim

thoughts, slop
mouth gushes

toes wet, legs jelly
slip, fall upwards

crossed eyes, lids tight
vision scattered polka dots

when can i be
better not this or this

lips, smile, eyes bright
a wave hello

why cant i be
that and not this

Pick a category

I realize if people read a blog they sort of expect consistency. Not: a blog post here, a review there, a poem here etc. I should pick an avenue and try and stick to it. Especially if I want to improve in a specific writing area. I think book reviewing may suit me well. It would encourage me to read more and think more about what I am reading. I often just move onto the next book with little reflection. I will finish my book today – perhaps I could write a review for that one in my next post? The book is actually about a critic (of film not book)!

Sleep

Sleep is great when you’re in it
horrible when you resist it
and annoying when you want to stay up all night writing non-poems and reading and you end up holding sleep in contempt why do we reply on it and why do I never feel ready for it until 5am can you just not why is there not a sleep pill that regenerates your mind maybe sleep is a conspiracy to keep us from knowing the real issues no I tried not sleeping and I went clinically insane lets not do that again but why oh god I should be asleep but sleep sleep go away
